Brownfield Assessment Grant Application

Applicants must be eligible entities (state, local, or tribal governments, redevelopment agencies, nonprofits). Describe the target area and known or suspected contamination. Demonstrate community need and support. Include a budget and work plan for assessment activities. Address environmental justice considerations. Assessment grants provide up to $500,000 for community-wide assessments or site-specific assessments. Applications are submitted through EPA's competitive grant process.
