  • Demands: Clearly state what you want — stop using the mark, remove content, destroy inventory, provide an accounting
  • Deadline: Set a reasonable deadline for compliance (typically 10-30 days)
  • Consequences: State that you will pursue legal action if the infringement continues
  • Note: A cease and desist letter is not a lawsuit — it is a demand. It can sometimes resolve disputes without litigation. Send via certified mail with return receipt.
