  • Date of Creation: When the work was completed
  • Date of Publication: If published, when and where
  • Deposit Copy: Upload or mail a copy of the work
  • Filing Fee: $45 (single author, single work, online) to $125 (paper filing)
  • Processing Time: 3-10 months for online applications

    Note: Copyright protection exists automatically when a work is created, but registration is required to file an infringement lawsuit and to claim statutory damages.
