  • Eligibility: Must be 18+, a green card holder for 5 years (3 years if married to a U.S. citizen), and physically present for required periods
  • Application: Complete all sections honestly — any misrepresentation can result in denial and deportation
  • Supporting Documents: Green card, tax returns (5 years), travel history, marriage/divorce records
  • Filing Fee: $760 (fee waiver available for low-income applicants)
  • Biometrics: Attend fingerprinting appointment
  • Interview: Pass the civics and English tests (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Oath Ceremony: Attend the naturalization oath ceremony to officially become a U.S. citizen
    • Note: Study the 100 civics questions provided by USCIS. You will be asked up to 10 and must answer 6 correctly.
