How a Bill Becomes a Law
Step 1 of ~13
Bill Introduction
A member of Congress introduces a bill. In the House, the bill is dropped in the 'hopper.' In the Senate, the bill is formally introduced on the floor. The bill is assigned a number (H.R. for House, S. for Senate) and referred to committee.
This is a simplified educational simulation. Real legal processes may vary by jurisdiction.
