Commercial email messages must include a clear and conspicuous identification that the message is an advertisement, the sender's valid physical postal address, and a clear mechanism for recipients to opt out of future messages. Opt-out requests must be honored within 10 business days.
The subject line must not be deceptive, the from and to information must be accurate, and the message must not use deceptive routing information. Violations can result in penalties of up to $50,120 per email.
