Hazard Communication Standard (HazCom)

Chemical manufacturers and importers must evaluate hazards of chemicals they produce or import and provide safety data sheets (SDS) for each hazardous chemical. Employers must maintain SDSs for all hazardous chemicals in the workplace and ensure they are readily accessible to employees.

Employers must develop and implement a written hazard communication program that includes labels, safety data sheets, and employee training on chemical hazards and protective measures.
