Hazardous Materials Table and Shipping Requirements

The Hazardous Materials Table lists materials designated as hazardous for transportation purposes and specifies the proper shipping name, hazard class, identification number, packing group, labeling requirements, and packaging authorizations. All persons who offer hazardous materials for transportation must classify the material, mark and label packages, and prepare shipping papers.

Employees who handle hazardous materials must receive training in general awareness, function-specific procedures, safety, security awareness, and in-depth security plans. Training must be completed within 90 days of employment and recurrent training every three years.
