Post-9/11 GI Bill Education Benefits

Veterans who served at least 90 days on active duty after September 10, 2001 are eligible for education benefits including tuition and fees, a monthly housing allowance, and a books and supplies stipend. Benefit levels are based on the length of active duty service, with full benefits available after 36 months of service.

Benefits may be used at approved institutions of higher learning, non-college degree programs, apprenticeship and on-the-job training programs, and certain licensing and certification tests. Eligible veterans may transfer unused benefits to their spouses or children. Benefits expire 15 years after the last period of active service.
