Full Text
No person shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance. Educational institutions must designate a Title IX coordinator, adopt a nondiscrimination policy, and implement grievance procedures.
The regulation covers admissions, recruitment, financial assistance, athletics, housing, and employment. Schools must respond promptly and effectively to reports of sexual harassment. Athletics programs must provide equal opportunity, though not necessarily identical programs, for members of both sexes.
